The numbers on the graph above represent the American Urology Association Symptom Index (AUASI) score which measures the BPH symptoms as reported by patients at the intervals indicated.  The higher the AUASI score the more symptoms the patients had due to BPH:

The 1 Year LIFT study indicated the average AUASI score of 22.1 for pre-procedure patients and a score of 12.3 one month after the procedure.
Dr. Walsh had patients indicate the average AUSAI score of 18.6 for pre-procedure patients and a score of 7.7 one month after the procedure.
This indicates that Dr. Walsh’s patients had a slightly lower starting AUASI score for pre-procedure patients and an even lower AUASI score after one month.  Dr. Walsh has better results for his patients than the patients in the large clinical LIFT study!

The UroLift® System Treatment

What is the UroLift System?

The UroLift System is a proven minimally invasive procedure to treat an enlarged prostate. It is the only leading enlarged prostate procedure that does not require heating, cutting, or destruction of prostate tissue. The procedure is typically performed as a same-day outpatient procedure, including the office setting, under local anesthesia.1

Advantages of the UroLift System

  • Only leading BPH procedure shown not to cause new and lasting sexual dysfunction*2,5,6
  • Covered by Medicare, national, and commercial plans**
  • Typically no catheter required after treatment4,6

How Does The UroLift® System Work?

The UroLift® System uses a revolutionary approach to treating BPH that lifts and holds the enlarged prostate tissue so it no longer blocks the urethra. It is the only available BPH treatment performed by a urologist that does not require heating, cutting, or removal of the prostate tissue. The procedure is typically performed using local anesthesia in a physician’s office or ambulatory surgery center. Patients typically return home the same day without a catheter.1

*No instances of new, sustained erectile or ejaculatory dysfunction in the L.I.F.T. pivotal study
